Raison d'être explores the woven fabric of the human experience; discovering new meaning in pain, breathing new life into the space of what once was and finding purpose in the ever-unfolding, It's a gracious visual narrative that contextualises the endless compounding layers of experience that form the foundation of perception and inform our personal understandings. Each work suspends us in a state of vulnerability; a moment that holds us in observation and enveloped by all we've become irreparably bound to within the mind and body over time. Where within this do we find our meaning? Where can we find greater understanding?

This is a body of work that has unfolded in a gentle, non-linear process over 4 years. One piece taking months to years to complete at any one time; returning time and time again to evolve its deeper narrative. A deeper process of discovery, expansion, uncovering, re-defining, evolving and progression is spoken in the muted tones, lyrical gestures, expressive graphic notes, stripped and re-layering processes to lapidify and encapsulate internal musings of meaning and purpose within our experiences; it's a tapestry weaving together a larger story of healing, change and uncovering perpetual "raison d'etre" anew.
